Tilia americana var. heterophylla

White Basswood is a fairly common tree in the Mountains of North Carolina, occasional in the Piedmont, that is distinguished from the American Basswood (Tilia americana var. americana) and Carolina Basswood (Tilia americana var. caroliniana) by the whitish, densely pubescent undersides of the leaves.
