Kei Hirayama
Flute
Kei Hirayama holds undergraduate and master's degrees from Toho Gakuen School of Music and an M.M. from the Yale School of Music. She has won numerous prizes including first place in the sixth Japan Flute Convention Competition. She has performed with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the late Kotaro Sato, and with members of the Vienna Philharmonic in chamber music concerts in 2004 and 2005. Ms. Hirayama has studied under Akira Aoki, Yuko Maeda, Sanae Sugawara, Ryu Noguchi, Motoaki Kato, Tetsuo Kugai, Raymond Guiot, Alain Marion, Aurel Nicolet, Ransom Wilson, Shyoko Aki and Kazuhide Isomura, and is currently a lecturer at the Muramatsu Flute Lesson Center.
Madoka Suzuki
Violin
Madoka Suzuki received her undergraduate degree from Toho Gakuen School of Music. While in the undergraduate program, she performed in the New Performers' Debut Concert at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. She has participated in the Mito Chamber Orchestra, and was invited to participate in the Tanglewood Music Festival. She was a semi-finalist in the duet competition in the Munich International Music Competition in 1998, and has received the Yomiuri Shinjin Prize as well as second prize in the Japan Chamber Music Competition in 1997. With the support of a Luis Guerra Commemorative Chamber Music Grant, she has held recitals at many venues, including Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. A member of the Société Fauré du Japon, Ms. Suzuki has studied under Hideki Oguni, Koichiro Harada, and Tamotada So.

Carl Schimmel
Composer
Winner of the 1999 Bearns Prize, Carl Schimmel has received honors, fellowships, and awards from many organizations including the MacDowell Colony, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Aspen Music Festival, the Seoul International Composition Competition, the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, the National Federation of Music Clubs, the New York Youth Symphony, SCI, and ASCAP. His works have been performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University (B.A., Mathematics and Music) and the Yale School of Music (M.M. Composition), he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Composition at Duke University.

Saeko Tominaga
Cello
After graduating from Toho Gakuen School of Music, Saeko Tominaga studied at and graduated from The Juilliard School with a scholarship from the Meiji Yasuda Cultural Foundation. She performed annually in Focus Music Festival as the principal cellist in the Juilliard Orchestra. She won the 24th New York Debut Award from Artists International, and made her recital debut at Carnegie Hall. She also held a recital at Merkin Hall in the Alumni Winner Series. Since her return to Japan, Ms. Tominaga has performed extensively, both as a solo artist and as a chamber musician, and her performances have been broadcast on NHK-FM radio. She has studied under Sumiko Kurata, Hakuro Mori, Ko Iwasaki, and Harvey Shapiro.
Kyoko Sasaki
Piano
After studying at Toho Gakuen School of Music, Kyoko Sasaki studied at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, where she acquired a diploma in Piano with "greatest distinction." She has also completed the Postgraduate program (Cycle de Perfectionnement) of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Ms. Sasaki has received numerous honors, including the best accompanist prize in the Tchaikovsky International Competition, third prize in the Maria Canals International Music Competition, and first prize in the Guadamora International Competition in Spain. She has performed with the Toho Gakuen Orchestra conducted by Jean Fournet. Her teachers have included Junko Ikemoto, Yumiko Meguri, Kazuoki Fujii, Ichoro Nodaira, and C. Ivaldi. She is serving as a registered pianist at Toho Gakuen School of Music.
