David's desk, isn't it lovely? This was right after I straightened it up.

David's bench, where all the magic happens. Where David pushes the envelope of human knowledge, delving into the mysteries of the inner workings of the cell, where a ballet of exquisite complexity takes place at the molecular level. Where a difference of a few molecules makes the difference between life and death (patriotic music begins to play.)

This is David's quest, to discover just what it is about the C terminal domain of RNA polymerase II and it's hyperphosphorylation that makes all the difference. The mysterious enzyme known as CTDK-I seems to be responsible for altering the elongation efficiency of the polymerase, but how? The doubters also question whether CTDK-I is the true CTD kinase, is this one lowly trimeric enzyme responsible for all that we say it is?

David is delving into the secrets of the cell, in order to connect CTDK-I function with gene expression, and determine what other proteins mitigate it's function. (Music swells)

To dream, the impossible dream, to fight, the unbeatable foe, to try, when your arms are to weary, to go, where the brave dare not go. This is my quest, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.
