I love roses. They are fragrant, elegant, and beautiful.
But I'm a lousy gardener. I began growing roses because I wanted to enjoy cut flowers around the house. I soon learned how much work these bushes require. And since I'm not a good rose gardener, I tend to fight an ongoing battle with diseases, beetles, and aphids. And rose bushes are surprising. Some are fragile and barely survive our winters here in North Carolina. And yet others seem to come back to life just when you thought all was lost.
Over the years I've had several different kinds of roses. Most of my roses are of the Hybrid Tea variety. I also have a few Grandiflora and Floribunda rose bushes. Have I said that I'm a lousy gardener? As a result, I've lost or replaced several bushes. Now it's not all my fault. Some of these bushes just aren't my favorites or aren't very hardy and I've indicated that on the page.
Roses have names. These names identify the type and breed of rose. I've included the names of all roses that were or are in my garden.
