Welcome!

In July 2007 I will graduate from Duke University's Master of Arts in Teaching Program. Beginning in July 2006 I took a variety of education and biology courses, participated in workshops on a wide range of pedagological practices, worked closely with my science cohort and interned with two very different but talented teachers in Durham Public Schools.

I spent the fall semster with Laura Roberson, Chair of the Science Department at Riverside High School, teaching Honors Biology. In the spring I interned with Gordon Gardinier at Jordan High School, teaching integrated Earth Science and Biology. This summer I will complete the last of the coursework for the M.A.T. degree.

This website chronicles my experiences and progress as a teaching intern and the beginning of my development as a teacher.

Students test water quality and examine organisms on a trip to the Eno River, Durham, North Carolina.
