Road Trip #1 landed me on the east coast, and I had to get back somehow. I couldn't resist making it interesting.
I first drove to Chicago, then to Sioux Falls, SD, then on to Badlands NP, then to Black Hills NF/Custer SP, then to Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, and finally back to Stanford. I am particularly grateful for the company of Monsignors Slattery, who appear throughout the pictures from SD. Also, major, major thanks to Stanford ELS for telling me what to see and do along the way.
I again used Hugin to produce some spectacular panoramas using the same crappy equipment as before. I also experimented with a windshield mount for my iPhone 4, adding videos of some amazing roads. Below are the highlights, which I (again) post primarily for the benefit of my
east coast brethren who have yet to experience the West:
The Final Specs:
Three national parks, one national forest, one state park, one national monument and twelve states in in 3580.2 mi on 142 gallons of gas (25.2 mpg) for $1250 in expenses.
