[ 75 g | 4 oz ] dark chocolate
[ 25 g | 3 tbsp ]cocoa powder
[ 250 ml | 1 c ] milk
[ 85 g | 1/2 c ] sugar
[ 250 ml | 1 c ] cream
gelatin
pinch salt
vanilla

Chocolate pudding in italy is firmer than many other puddings.
Dissolve an appropriate amount of gelatin (e.g. 2 packets of gelatin powder in the US) in the milk.
Heat the cream until it just boils then remove from heat. Add the sugar then the chocolate, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla. Stir until the mixture is homogenous. Pour into the milk and stir some more. Refrigerate in a mold until firm (about 3 hours).
Notes: for a lighter pudding you can replace the cream with milk.
