Lebanese Meatballs

Ingredienti


1 onion
5 tbsp olive oil
[ 500 g | 1 lb ] ground beef
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp coriander
minced parsley
1 tbsp pomegranate concentrate
[ 125 g | 1 c ] bread crumbs
1 egg
[ 50 g | 1/4 c ]pine nuts (optional)
salt and pepper

Ricetta


Finely mince the onion and brown with 2 tbsp of olive oil. Add the cumin and coriander and continue cooking for 1 minute.

Mix the onion with the remaining ingredients. Shape into [ 3 cm | 1 in ] balls then brown in the remaining olive oil on moderate heat (about 20 minutes).

Serve with pilaf and yogurt.

Notes:
Substitute lamb for the beef.
Consider using mint instead of parsley.
Some like to simmer the meatballs in [ 400 g | 2 c ] yogurt.
The meatballs can also be broiled in the oven.
Can also add cinnamon.
