Limoncello

Ingredienti


[ 750 ml | 3 c ] 95 percent alcohol
18 lemons
[ 750 ml | 3 c ] water
[ 300 g | 1 3/4 c ] sugar

Ricetta

Sweet, ice cold, lemony liquer.

Add the lemons' zest to the alcohol. Infuse for two weeks.

Heat the water and add the sugar, stirring until dissolved. Pour the sugar water into the strained alcohol.

Store in the freezer, serve very cold.

Note: Traditionally lemons from Sorrento are used. If you cannot find them substitute large lemons that are still a little green.
The white part of the lemon rind is bitter, avoid including it in the infusion.
If you like the limoncello a little less sweet, try 250 g sugar, if you like it syrupy sweet, 400 g.
