Pound Cake

Ingredienti


[ 250 g | 1 1/2 c ] flour
[ 250 g | 1/2 lb ] butter
[ 250 g | 1 1/2 c ] sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp orange flower water
[ 50 ml | 1/4 c ] cream
salt

Ricetta

Cream the butter with the sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, then the sifted dry ingredients. Continue whipping for about 7 minutes, then add the cream. Mix until uniform.

Place in a rectangular loaf pan or small bundt pan and cook for 1:20 at [ 160 C | 325 F ] (until tootpick comes out clean or center reaches [ 100 C | 210 F ]). Allow to cool for at least 40 minutes.

Notes:
Consider adding orange flower water, or orange zest, or lemon zest.
Marbelize with [ 100 g | 4.5 oz ] melted dark chocolate.
For kentucky butter cake add a tsp of baking powder and when baked pour on top a syrup made of [ 50 g | 2 tbsp ] butter, [ 60 g | 1/3 c ] sugar and 1 tbsp water.
