I came to Duke university in the summer of 2000 after I got my Master's degree in the department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong university.

Now I'm working in the area of computational mechanics and my research interests are mainly focused on the modeling of phase transition problems using the eXtended Finite Element Method and the Level Set Method. My current work is also focused on the  modeling  behavior of Stimulus Responsive Hydrogels (SRHs) which is considered a "smart" material which has wide industrial and pharmaceutical applications.
