Re: Data entering in Kinston
I spent yesterday entering buy-out property information from the Lenoir County Finance Department files into a spreadsheet. With the information I gathered, I will make a GIS database that shows where the buy-out properties are and where the residents relocated. I also want to use trends in property value to show where affordable housing exists in Lenoir County. As the Green Infrastructure plan unfolds, this information (along with census data) can illustrate which economic sectors have access and are connected by the recreation areas. Lenoir County is also interested in assessing the degree of sprawl caused by flooding and identifying which farmland is pressured by development.
