I am an evolutionary ecologist broadly interested in adaptive evolution in natural plant populations.

My research examines how natural selection, gene flow and genetic drift interact to promote or constrain adaptation.  I have used approaches drawn from ecophysiology, population and quantitative genetics, and ecological genomics to investigate the evolutionary dynamics of plants, primarily in temperate ecosystems.  Additionally, I have studied seed dispersal ecology in Amazonian floodplain forests.  I am motivated by evolutionary theory, conservation biology, and patterns I observe in the natural world.
