Player Manual
Welcome to the exciting world of Casino Blackjack simulations! To begin on
your amazing gambling
odyssey, double click on "blackjack.exe". This will bring up the Player
Type enu and Betting Type menu. You will then be prompted to "enter number
of players between 1 and 5". Type the number of players you want to play
and hit enter.
You will then be prompted to type the name and select a player type and betting
type for each of your players.
Give them any name you like and type the number of the player type and betting
type you would like that player
to be from the list that appears onscreen. Before selecting betting type, it
will ask you how much money you want to play with (up to $1000). This money
will be subtracted or added to as you lose and win bets. Once you have no more
money left, you are still allowed to play just for fun. You just can't win any
money.
Player Types:
1) Random Player - Player will randomly decide if s/he would like to hit or stay
2) Showgirl Player - Player will hit if hand is less than 9, and will stand
if greater than 17. If hand is anything 9 through 17, player will hit if dealer
has score greater than 8.
3) Dealer(stands on 17) - Player that will hit if hand is less than 17 and
stands if hand is greater than or equal to 17
4) Dealer hits on soft 17 - Player that will hit if hand is less than 17 or
contains soft 17 (hand equals 17, but contains an Ace).
Otherwise, it will stand on a hand of 17 or greater.
Betting Types:
1) High Spender - Spends 90% of their bank.
2) Moderate Spender - Spends 60% of their bank.
3) Scared Grandparent - Spends 30% of their bank.
4) Cheapskate - Bets nothing
After setting up your players, a list will appear displaying the different
variations of
blackjack you can play. Select which type of blackjack game you would like to
play from the list by
typing its number, and hit enter.
Game Types:
1) Normal Game - Game will use the standard rules of blackjack where dealer
stays on 17, and uses 6 decks
2) One Deck game - Normal game where only one deck is used.
3) Dealer hits on soft 17 - Dealer becomes a dealer hits on soft 17 player (see above).
A game of blackjack will then be simulated based on your decisions and the results
displayed on the
screen.
You will then be asked if you would like to play another game. Type 'y' or
'yes' if you would like
to play again, or 'n' or 'no' if you would like to end.
