About me

My name is Jessica DiZio. I am an eighteen-year-old freshman at Duke University in North Carolina. I was born in the United Kingdom and I have moved around the globe since then- from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Manhattan Beach, California. I spent my highschool years in Mclean, Virginia,, a suburb of Washington, D.C.. I was given this assignment by Dr. Bradley Hammer in my first-year writing class, which is mandatory for all freshman students. Throughout this class I began to think more critically by avoiding using trusths only evident to myself in my writing, and avoiding faulty causality, or jumps in logic. Originally I was interested in learning about this topic because I felt like members of my family who were gay do not have the same opportunities as heterosexual members of American society. Despite my original bias, by researching this topic, I attempted to see both sides of the situation. I hope that by reading over the pages of this website, you will be able to see an unbiased view on same-sex marriage that you will find informative.

Who are you?

Why should it be my place to give you information about same-sex marriage and the implications of its arguments?

Where do I come from and why do I even care?
