Strange things happen on the Lost Coast of California.
I am a Research Scientist with the Center for Marine Conservation at the Duke University Marine Laboratory.
My current research interests are in areas of population dynamics and trophic interactions, and in applying quantitative tools to estimate elusive parameters and analyze ecological data for assisting wildlife and fisheries management. I have worked in several types of ecological systems, with present emphases in coastal and marine habitats.
Common themes of my research include understanding the direct or indirect roles of human activity on populations or ecological processes, and I am increasingly keen on taking collaborative and multi-discplinary approaches to addressing today's environmental sustainability challenges through the integration of research, outreach, and stakeholder involvement.
