My full name is Jennifer Lindsay Shull, but everyone just calls me Jenny. I was born and raised in Downey, California which is right outside of Los Angeles. I have an amazing family of 5. I am the youngest of 3 children. I have a brother, Jimmy, who is 23 and was recently drafted 4th round in the MLB draft by the Oakland A's. I also have a sister, Jessie, who is 21 and is currently on a volleyball scholarship to San Jose State University in Northern California. Then there is me! I am 20 years old and currently a volleyball player here at Duke. I spend pretty much all my time playing volleyball, traveling with the team, practicing, and hanging out with my friends, which are mostly my teammates. I love school,life, my friends, and family and can't complain about too much!
At this point in my life, I have very little, in fact, practically zero experience with computer science. That is exactly why I am here! I began to realize that I spend hours and hours everyday surfing the web, visiting Facebook and MySpace, and checking my email, but I had no idea how any of it worked. I knew that I definitely had an interest for computers, so this intro course would be a start to getting to know a little bit more about computers. Who knows how far this computer science course will take me? Perhaps it will spark a fire in me and make me realize that computer science, programming, and animation is something I really enjoy and would like to continue in or maybe I find out its just not the right thing for me. Either way I am excited and anxious to learn all I can in this short semester!
