Synopsis: I compiled all the data for both the high and low fields for both the hydrogen runs and the deuterium runs. I then compared the results below the threshold energy (1.75 GeV) to the results over all energies. One of the main purposes of these graphs was to see if there was any difference between the low field and high field settings. Ideally, if the results from both field settings are similar they can be combined, which I also did below, so as to double the events graphed (and as a result attempt to obtain better results). With the hydrogen data there were very few events, particularly below the threshold energy, and hence it was hard to draw conclusions. With the deuterium data however, in particular once the high and low field data had been combined, the results were far more conclusive. Hydrogen data: Low field: Overall events and below threshold events Events below 1.7 , 1.6, and 1.5 GeV High field: Overall events and below threshold events Events below 1.7, 1.6, and 1.5 GeV Combined data: Overall events and below threshold events Events below 1.7, 1.6, and 1.5 GeV Deuterium data: Low field: Overall events and below threshold events Events below 1.7 , 1.6, and 1.5 GeV High field: Overall events and below threshold events Events below 1.7, 1.6, and 1.5 GeV Combined data: Overall events and below threshold events Events below 1.7, 1.6, and 1.5 GeV |
