Current work details
I am a staff nurse III in the cardiac intensive care unit at Children's Hospital Boston. I also work as a nurse informatics specialist. On average, I spend one shift a week working in the CICU and the rest of my time working as the Clinical Lead for our ICU Information Systems. I have been at that for nearly four years. The vendor we currently use Eclipsys, but work has already begun on a new house-wide system. We will soon be switching over to the Cerner solutions. In the design and implementation process, I am one of a number of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). We meet almost daily to discuss current and future-state workflows in order to plan and build our Cerner system properly. Additionally I participate in the Clinical Leaders Group which meets weekly to address critical issues that will have a major impact on the project.
