Situated across the western edge of the Mediterranian, the Balearic islands have a complex history that has been the object of a great deal of study for years. Constant archaeological excavation has been present on the islands for over a hundred years, and new insights into the history of the islands are constantly being made. This web site is a brief survey of the archaeology of two of the Balearic islands, Mallorca (also known as Majorca) and Menorca (also known as Minorca).
