Thanks to David Hill for identifying this spider. He states this is likely a penultimate stage female. David also reports that this species is much more colorful in the southeast, as this individual shows. Northerly specimens of females of this species are often dull gray or brown.

This individual was found in an opening in a 25 year old loblolly pine forest.
