Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga)

Breeding range extends from the tropics north along the eastern US coast to North Carolina. Anhingas are very common in Florida and uncommon in coastal NC.

	Anhingas often stand with spread wings to facilitate feather drying and thermoregulation. Collier Co., FL 30 Dec 2006
