Dusted Skipper (Atrytonopsis hianna)

Generally uncommon (to locally fairly common) and widespread in NC, this single-brooded species flies only in the springtime. Note the obvious white "eyebrow". This species varies over its range in the amount of white spotting in the underhindwing. The two individuals below were found in the same location on the same day.
