European Skipper (Thymelicus lineola)

In NC, European Skippers are known only from two locations in the northern mountains, although suitable habitat is much more widespread. It flies in mid summer with a single brood. In MI, where these were photographed, it is an abundant skipper. As the name implies, it is an introduced species.
