Zarucco Duskywing (Erynnis zarucco)

Widespread but uncommon (sandhills and lower coastal plain) to very rare (northern mountains) in NC, this species has only two to three broods. Note the lack of a white spot inside the "wrist" of the forewing that Juvenal's and Horace's have.
