Richmond Co., NC 14 June 2008 It was unable to completely close its shell. If you find a box turtle with this condition you can take it to a qualified rehabber, who can treat the infection. It's best if you are able to then return the turtle to essentially the exact place you found in when it's recovered. Box turtles often do not do well when placed "back in nature" but not in their original, familiar territory. |
