I found this Bumble bee nest (probably Bombus impatiens) just inside the door to my crawlspace on 6 May 2004. Three days later, I returned to the crawlspace and there was no sign of the nest. It simply vanished. Some predator must have gobbled it up, but there's no access to the crawlspace large enough for a Raccoon or an O'possum, so the mystery remains...
