Hello. I'm a sophomore majoring in Computer Science and I'm from Chicago. I first started using a computer when I was about 8 years old.
I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and playing viola.
This semester I am also taking Math 104, ISIS 100, and PSY 92
I've mostly used PCs for personal use and occasionally Macs at school.
I use computers for entertainment, information, word processing and social networking on a daily basis.
I decided computer science was particularly versatile so that's when i decided to major in it, especially after taking 100e and finding the programming projects to be interesting.
I imagine what a computer scientist does on a daily basis depends on their specific occupation, as computer science is a broad field. It may range from programming to management to design.
The worst programming experience may have been over the summer of junior year in high school when I took AP Computer Science. It was the worst because i was completely new to programming and had a difficult time adjusting and learning it.
My least favorite programming project so far would be writing a Java program to simulate MIPS instructions. Although the concept was interesting, it was tedious to code every single one of the majority of MIPS instructions into Java.
I see myself using computers in much the same way I am now, as previously mentioned. I may be doing more occupational-related work once I enter a career.
