Kelfa's Art, past and present: Flower Arrangements
This was my first ever entry at the Hemerocallis (lilly) Show, which had a NASCAR theme with this category being "reflective" and the title being something about a crash. I had a lot of fun, and managed to get 1st with it, despite the disapproving looks of some of the more serious, much older people *smiles.*
This one I entered in the State Fair my senior year of high school as a "juvenile small" arrangement. They ended up DQing it because I used the entire alloted space instead of making it too small and they didn't bother measuring it so claimed it was too large, but it means I got to keep it at home.
This was an iris show my 11th grade year and it was a "transparency" design with the theme "City of Angels."
This iris show was my senior year, the day of my prom, so I must say I didn't put in the effort I usually did, but it was a "ring" design -- I don't remember the theme.
Starting around 8th grade I entered a fair number of flower shows (and even managed to place in some of them.) Here are some of my more interesting pieces. For those who haven't been to "formal" flower shows, there are different categories of arrangements, each of which has set rules and guidelines, choosen for each show. At the smaller shows that I do it's generally 4 arrangements in each category, with the types of arrangements including "reflective," "formal mass," "transparant" and the like.
