Welcome to my homepage.

I am a second year graduate student at Duke University working in the Infant Perception Lab with Dr. Amy Needham. On this page you will find information about me, my work and my academic background.

 
     

Personal Background:

   
    I am originially from Germany where I lived both in the south and north for some time. For the past 2 years I have been living in the US together with my wife Melissa.  

Academic History:

   
    I received a B.S. in Cognitive Science from the University of Osnabrück in 2004 where I worked with Peter König. I spend a short time at McGill University, Canada, and I started my Ph.D in 2005 at Duke Univeristy. More.  

Research Interests:

   
    I am interested in the development of action production and understanding in early infancy. In my research, I employ both looking-time paradigms as well as eye-tracking methods. More.  

Teaching:

   
    During the Fall term 2006 I was a teaching assistant for the class PSY 91: Biological Bases of Behavior at Duke University. This class was taught by Dr. Jeffrey Lamoureux. In the Spring term 2007 I will teach a graduate workshop on "Teaching and Training" together with Melissa Libertus. Some information on my teaching and my teaching experiences so far is provided here.

Collaborations:

   
  At Duke University I mainly work in the Infant Perception Lab with Dr. Amy Needham. Current collaborative projects are conducted with Dr. Marissa Greif and Dr. Kevin Pelphrey. In early 2006 I compled a lab rotation in the Duke Visual Cognition Laboratory by Dr. Stephen Mitroff.
