Welcome to my portfolio for the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at Duke University. My 2001-2002 academic year merged graduate level education and science classes at Duke with student teaching at Southern Durham (honors and standard physics) and Jordan High Schools (honors and AP chemistry). I display here examples of my classroom experience, teaching philosophy, coursework in my academic field of science, and evaluations of my progress. I owe special thanks for these teaching and learning experiences to my mentors, Tom Tretter of Southern High School and Loretta Singleton of Jordan High School, and to the faculty and staff of the MAT program at Duke University. To explore any of the four topics, simply click on the atom with the
appropriate name. A brief description of each of the topics can be found
at the bottom of the page.
