The beluga whales at the Vancouver aquarium seemed happy, and enjoyed playing with the diver who joined them in the tank.

After Stanley Park, we visited a geocache in Jericho Beach Park, not far from UBC.

The next two days, we skied at Cypress Mountain, in West Vancouver, enjoying Vancouver's "drive-in winter."

Nora got this spectacular shot of Horseshoe Bay from the mountaintop at Cypress. Amelia and I didn't ski quite so high, but we also enjoyed the views.

Amelia on the slopes at Cypress. I think this may have been toward the end of our descent from Panorama (the "green" that was really a blue.)

On New Year's Eve, Granville Island hosted a great First Night celebration, with clowns, fire tricks, and a drum circle that we all enjoyed. This is the view of False Creek (actually a narrow inlet of the Pacific) from the Island (which is actually a peninsula).
