Introduction
The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) has played and is still playing an important role in our daily life. Different advanced applications like e-business, medical information science, publish/subscribe, etc., have acknowledged the significance of the role of XML. Therefore, it is important to understand different XML data management technologies like XML indexing, query and update processing technologies, keywords search in XML, etc. In this, the connection of both advanced applications and latest XML processing technologies is of primary importance. In the fields of database, information systems, web service, etc., there exists a need for an edited collection of articles in this area.
Objective of the Book and Target Audience
This book will aim to provide relevant theoretical frameworks and the latest empirical research findings in the area. It will be written for professionals and researchers working in the field of XML in various disciplines who want to improve their understanding of the XML data management technologies, that is, XML models, XML query and update processing, XML query languages and their implementations, keywords search in XML documents, database, web service, publish/subscribe, medical information science, and e-business.
Recommended topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
Models, structures and views in XML Processing
Labeling (numbering) schemes in XML processing
XML stream processing
