I am currently investigating the role played by herbivorous vertebrates,
insects and pathogens in the spacing dynamics and the maintenance of tree
species diversity in tropical rainforests, using a comparative, diagnostic
approach. In addition, I plan to initiate a study that examines the effect
of foraging behaviour and food preferences of white-lipped peccaries on
the composition of heterospecific seedling and sapling recruits around
adults of preferred food tree species vs. less-preferred species.

Actualmente estoy investigando el papel desempeñado por los vertebrados
herbívoros, los insectos y patógenos en el espaciamiento
de la dinámica y el mantenimiento de la diversidad de especies
arbóreas en las selvas tropicales, utilizando un estudio comparativo,
método de diagnóstico. Además, tengo previsto iniciar
un estudio que examina los efectos de comportamiento de forrajeo y preferencias
alimentarias de pecaríes en la composición de plántulas
heterospecificas y el reclutamiento de juveniles en torno a los adultos
como alimento preferido de las especies de árboles frente a menos
especies preferidas.
