you are the poet and
we are the users and
keepers of language and
speech and
stories and
all that sounds and
sounded and
will sound foreign
someday other than
now but cannot be
anything
ANYTHING but
what it is
itself today in
the mouths of myself and
yourself and
the poems our
babies will utter
in their turn.
