From an earlier post (on 12/21/2008), the author was trying to decode WMA. He originally tried libavcodec, but he could not get the code working (the code compiled though). He was wondering if this was related to alignment. He then tried to use RockBox (version of libavcodec??? [Mike, I don't know about the relationship between lavc and RockBox, so I might be talking some non-sense here]) and had a better luck with it, although WMA could not be played. His guess was that WMA decoding went fine, but WMA stream could not be demux-ed from ASF container. On the following post on 12/25/2008, which your link points to, he was successful to play WMA. The reasons of the failure were endian and alignment. However, he was not still successful to decode encrypted WMA, so he was speculating moonshell might be able to play the encrypted ones if he used a part of libavcodec. Other than that, benchmark results and future plan (or lack of thereof) were also mentioned in the post. BTW, the development of MoonShell is terminated, and the author will not read any emali. So, I think the chance is almost nil to get additional information from the guy. Hope this helps,
