My academic history
I received a B.A. in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley in 1998, where I worked with Alison Gopnik. I then went on to Harvard University for graduate studies in Cognitive Psychology, where I worked with Daniel Simons, receiving a M.A. in 2000 and a Ph.D. in 2002. After post-doctoral training in the Psychology department at Yale University working with Brian Scholl and Karen Wynn, I joined the faculty in the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience and the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Duke University in 2005.

A little about me

I am originially from the San Francisco Bay Area, but
have been mostly living on the east coast since 1998.
My wife, Pam, and I met while at Berkeley.

Pam and I enjoy traveling and some of our
favorite places have been Australia, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Thailand, New Zealand, and Hawaii. Two recent trips were to New Zealand and on a trek to Machu Picchu in Peru (see pics).
