How Islam is the New Communism

This article from the Wall Street Journal provides an interesting point of view that Islam has become the new Communism is that rebel groups use it as a blanket cause to conjure up support and funding. It uses the example of the Chechen rebel leader Shamil Basayev, who only recently fervently converted to Islam. The majority of the story is about Basayev, but the point he brings up is a very interesting and well backed take on the current terrorism situation.
