Florida Embarrasses Itself... Again

One nauseating situation was in Miami-Dade County where the reporting of precincts was delayed by the fact that they were unprepared for the number of absentee ballots that came in. That is completely unacceptable and I agree with Tucker Carlson when he said that someone should go to jail for this. Florida has been the butt of many jokes and also the focus of much attention since the horrendous way it handled the 2000 election. Officials in Florida must be aware of this and overstaffed accordingly. It is worth the extra cost to the state for major voting precincts to overstaff on the side of caution to avoid national embarrassment again. The situation was also unacceptable because the precinct officials know how many absentee ballots they sent out so they must have a very good idea of how many could be coming back. I hope Florida gets its act together by the next election and I think it is sad that this is the same sentiment that was popular after 2000. Florida officials obviously didn’t learn their lesson the first time, but I hope there is some reform after this embarrassment.
