mikeWelcome to my webspace!

I'm currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Ecology. I study wetland ecosytems and am conducting my doctoral research in two very different and geographically separated wetlands. The first is an extremely seasonal and very large freshwater wetland complex in Costa Rica's Palo Verde National Park. Ecosystem processes and community structure in these dynamic marshes are strongly dictated by seasonal changes in hydrology (this part of Costa Rica has a 6-month rainy season and a 6-month dry season). The second site is located within a riparian restoration and urban stormwater improvement project adjacent to Duke University's West Campus. For more info about the specific research projects at these sites, please see the linked tabs above and or send me an email.
