This is a companion page to Columbia University's Summer Ecosystem Experience for Undergraduates (SEE-U) in the Dominican Republic.
SEE-U is a five-week field ecology course taught in Brazil and the Dominican Republic. The course is designed for non-science majors, although it can be a valuable experience for science majors as well.
During the course, students have an in-depth experience with tropical marine and terrestrial ecosystems, ecological theory, conservation practice, and a variety of field and analytical tools. This is a hands-on course, where students learn how to formulate a scientific questions, design a field experiments, and then analyze, interpret and present the results.
