ShumateMy short story "Mass" was first published in 1991 in a small North Carolina literary journal, The Crescent Review. Even though you may have gotten to this page via Hyperizons, the homepa ge I'm compiling for hypertext fiction, "Mass" is not a hypertext but just print text tagged in HTML. I have, however, in connection with my master's thesis, turned a short section of "Mass" into a hypertext I call a simultaneity experiment. You're welcome to take a look.
"Mass" is divided into 4 sections, which I advise reading in order, but in case you want to skip around, here's where everything is:I would be more than happy to hear any thoughts you may have about the story, pro or con.
