Biography :

I am currently a senior at Duke University majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. this is going to be my last required class for my CS major. I guess i left the best for last. I was born in china and came to U.S. when i was ten years old. lets see, oh yeah. lived in Houston for 6 years, Winston-Salem(rather close to Duke) for 2 years and Seattle, my currently place to stay, for only a few month. Its kinda bothersome to tell all this to people so i just say i am from Seattle but i dont' really know anything about it hehe.

Some CS stuff:

Here are some of the CS classes i have already taken at Duke

• cps100 - This class is kinda of a blur, I remember programming inherited class for our first assignment. Did not have any idea of what is going on. I wonder if they teach inherited class in cps6. I guess this is what i get for skipping it
• cps110 -this is my nightmarish operating system class. I don't think we finished any assignment completely which is soooo sad. =(.
• cps140 -this is my semi compiler class. I liked the robogo program we did. its alot of theory though.
• cps170 -A.I. class, i liked this alot because we build cool things like a game player and a neural net and they actually works.

Classes i am dying to take:

• cps108 - kinda of a requirement but i think i will learn alot too.
• cps124 - my suicidal course that i plan to take at the same time as 108. I wanted to take this because i don't know anything about graphics and i figure i should at least know something before i enter the real world and time becomes short. we will see how it goes =)

I have liked CS classes in general because i do like the feeling i get when a program works and looks clean too, my first programming class was in elementary school when i took class in Basic. It is kinda an advanced class and i have like no idea what i was doing except remembering Print and End. of course i didn't know any english then so it doesn't hold any meaning. Then i didn't do any programming til high school in AP Computer Science and i loved it. I understood all of it and it made sense. So i decided i have to learn this stuff in college. So here i am. My computer skills consists of C++ and some C and other random stuff i picked up. So hopefully in 108 i will pick up Java. I also plan to take 124 at the same time so god help me ^_^.
