Research Interests
Territoriality and International Relations: visa policies, international immigration, border management, reconceptualizing border salience.
A central question my current project focuses relates to variation in border security policies. The following pictures provide a snapshot of how borders may look different: some states build fences and walls, whereas others have almost completely permeable borders with only a sign indicating that one has passed into the territory of another state.
