Early November, and we still had beautiful weather here in Dayton. Here's Jay enjoying the sunshine on the grass outside our apartment.
Month 6 Well over 20 pounds and 26 inches...

Late September, and Jay's recently started sitting up for good. Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa, for the rocking chair. If you think this shot's cute, check out the video! It's dark with no sound--but it's worth it.

Weight update 12 lbs., 11 oz. as of June 6, just over 2 months old. He's a chunk!

This extraordinary shot was taken by Jay's uncle, Bill Stratton, at Jay's grandparents' Jay and Jean Stratton's 50th anniversary celebration at Wild Basin Lodge high in the Rockies, May 29, 2003. The blanket was a gift from LaVonne's friend Bridget Donnelly, and the goldfish outfit was a gift from Linda Herrndon at the Duke Biochemistry Department.

We don't want to brag or get ahead of ourselves, but this little fellow is just too sweet to be true. He's playful, cries only when crying is apparently called for, and is all around just darling. We're very happy to have had him join us! Here he takes his first bath-in-water in stride. Did we mention that you're going to see far too much of Winnie the Pooh?

Getting Jay with his eyes open has been a challenge--here's a rare glimpse. They're very dark blue for now, and when he is awake, he looks around a lot.
Jay meets Mommy on his zeroth birthday, afternoon of Friday April 4; she's overjoyed.
Dad with Jay on Sunday morning the 6th, with some reduction in the bags under the eyes and a steady increase in the size of the smile!
Jay contemplates the world wide-eyed on his fifth day, Tuesday afternoon. His eyes are still very dark blue today.
Jay relaxes after his sponge bath, Thursday, April 10. His eyes are still very blue, even though they look brown here.
