The 2-days workshop was an intensive workshop to introduce scientists and researchers to patch-clamp and imaging methods on brain slices. These are powerful methods to study synaptic connections and ion channels in the brain. The lectures were conducted by Professor George Augustine in the morning of Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 March 2003 . Prof. Augustine is a George J. Geller Professor in Department of Neurobiology at Duke University Medical Center . The afternoon sessions were hands-on from 2:00PM until 10:30PM in the evening for participants to get acquaint with the exercises. There were more than 80 participants in the lectures and 20 participants in the lab from institutes and Universities as far as UWA of Australia.
