About Me: I am currently a sophomore ECE major in Pratt
hailing from Reston, VA
(about a 20-30 minute drive west of Washington,
D.C.). I love playing or watching sports,
especially basketball, football, and soccer. I also like to just relax and hang out
with friends – watching TV or playing poker or video games. In addition to this class
I am taking Physics 62, ECE 27, and Math 108.
Computer Science Autobiography: I’ve been using computers for as long as I can remember,
whether to play games when I was a kid or type papers and surf the internet as
a teenager. My family has gone
through several desktop computers and I currently have my own laptop for
school, but they all have had the common trait of running a Windows operating
system. These days I mostly use my
computer to access the internet, with the occasional bit of homework thrown in
here and there. I first got
interested in computer science when I took AP as a senior in high school and
really enjoyed the class. I
envision a computer scientist being assigned a task
and using whatever means he/she desires to write code to accomplish the
task. My best programming
experiences have been any program that had me stumped for a long time, but I
eventually solved; the feeling of finally writing successful code makes the
struggle worthwhile. Similarly, my
favorite projects have been those that require extensive work and include
numerous different hurdles to overcome.
In the future I could see myself using
computers for programming purposes, in addition to continuing to use them to
waste countless hours surfing the internet!
