* Recently Updated with New Information
Color Key: Complete, Under Construction, Funded Future Project, Unfunded Future Project, Not Listed in Current STIP
* Dates from NCDOT's State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) 2009-2015 (June 2008) and are subject to change. Projects not included in the STIP have an assumed starting date after 2015.
** For completed and under construction projects only.
*** Construction of the Greensboro Loop was not specifically an I-73 project,  it was signed I-40/I-73 or Future I-73/I-840 though when it was opened .
**** While the project to upgrade I-73 is unfunded and not set to start until after 2015, NCDOT hopes to get a waiver to have these segments signed as a full interstate when the Asheboro construction project is completed.

1. Though the road is signed as I-73/74 work is still needed on widening the shoulders on part of it to meet interstate standards, this project should start in 2011.
