We must make sure our community will grow. During these uncertain times, we need more good jobs in our area. We need to ensure that we have a business climate that attracts professionals, encourages entreprenuership and attracts new developments. Government should not get in the way of economic development. We need to cut red-tape, lower taxes and improve our roads so more companies will move to our area. We need to strike a balance between economic growth and protecting the environment in our area. We must pursue a smarter growth strategy that encourages development, especially new businesses with high paying jobs, but continues to ensure the environment is protected. We must do a better job of protecting our green spaces, our drinking water, and our clean air. Before we approve any development, we need to carefully consider how it will impact on the quality of life of our community. We need to pursue new ways to improve the traffic problems in our area and we need to do a better job to keep fields and forests from being turned into parking lots. We must protect the quality of life in our community. Developers should not be allowed to run our government and ruin our community by making the traffic worse, polluting our air and destroying our streams and forests. We need to invest in our parks and protect the open spaces in our community. We need better public transportation to reduce congestion and stricter zoning rules to stop sprawl. We must do a better job fighting crime in our community. We need to have a more visible police presence on our streets, longer jail terms for repeat offenders and more creative efforts to prevent crime before it happens.
