Research

My research centers on the origin and maintenance of floral diversity, particularly in the Neotropics. This work combines phylogenetics, comparative methods, pollination ecology and genetics to investigate broad evolutionary questions, such as:
  • Do floral traits show repeated patterns of change across phylogenies?
  • To what extent are these floral shifts driven by changes in pollination system?
  • What genetic mechanisms underlies these evolutionary transitions in floral traits?
